Work Study Program Information

The Work-Study Program provides students with an opportunity to meet financial needs and gain practical experience during the school year.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

Students are eligible to participate in Work-Study if they have applied and qualified for a 2009/2010 Ontario Student Loan from OSAP as a resident of Ontario and be registered in at least 60% of a full course load ( 40% for students with permanent disabilities). Students who meet these criteria should complete a Declaration of Eligibility/Hiring form. This form enables students to declare themselves eligible based on the above criteria and will allow them to review the Work-Study job listings on the Career Centre's website. Students are responsible for ensuring that the Declaration of Eligibility/Hiring form is correctly and fully completed and submitted to Admissions and Awards. The form is available from:

  • Admissions and Awards, 315 Bloor Street West
  • Campus Career Centres
  • College/Faculty Registrar's Offices
  • Potential Work-Study Employers

OSAP Policy Reminder!

Study period income, including Work-Study income, must be reported to OSAP and may reduce your entitlement. Work-Study participants receiving Ontario Student Loan funding may have study period income of $50 per week without reducing their OSAP entitlement.

Special Circumstances

Students who do not meet the above criteria may also be considered for participation providing financial need can be demonstrated to the satisfaction of Admissions and Awards. However, students in this situation must first complete a special Work-Study application and, if approved for the program, will receive a Declaration of Eligibility form giving them special permission to participate.
