IMPORTANT UPDATE - Due to the popularity of the Work-Study Program, there is a limit on the number of Fall-Winter Work-Study jobs that can be funded. The Fall-Winter Work-Study hiring deadline is September 30 or when the budget has been fully committed. It is important that the completed Hiring Form be received by Admissions and Awards as soon as you have been hired to ensure that your position will be funded.

Basic Eligibility Criteria
Eligible students may work a maximum of 12 hours per week, up to 90 hours, within the duration of the program - May 2, 2011 to August 5, 2011. Students are eligible if they have:
- Applied and qualified for OSAP funding as a resident of Ontario OR have qualified for student financial aid from a province/territory other than Ontario (confirmation required); OR are receiving Band funding from the Aboriginal Student Support Program (confirmation required)
OR
- Applied and qualified for student financial aid from a province other than Ontario (proof required)
AND, students must
- Be registered in at least 60% of a full course load at U of T (this is 1.5 credits in the summer from May to August; students with permanent disabilities must be registered in at least 1.0 credit in the summer)
Students who meet these criteria, and are offered a position, must complete a Declaration of Eligibility/Hiring form. The form will be available online, or at these locations:
- Admissions and Awards, 172 St. George Street
- Career Centre at UTM , South Building, Room 2122
- Academic Advising & Career Centre at UTSC, Science Wing, Room AC213
OSAP Policy Reminder!
Work-Study participants receiving OSAP funding may have had a study period income of $50/week without reducing their OSAP entitlement. A higher income during the study period, including Work-Study, must be reported to OSAP and could reduce your entitlement or result in an overpayment affecting future assistance. Please check with financial aid for details.
Hours/Rate of Pay
- Rate of Pay: $10.25 per hour + 4% vacation pay = approx. $10.66 per hour
- Maximum hours: 90 hours overall and no more than 12 hours in any week.
- Duration of program: May 2, 2011 to August 5, 2011

The Fall-Winter Work-Study Program provides students with an opportunity to meet financial needs and gain practical experience during the school year. There are various Fall-Winter Work-Study positions for U of T students to engage in meaningful work experiences, develop valuable skills and participate in peer-to-peer learning opportunities.

- • Applied and qualified for OSAP funding as a resident of Ontario OR have qualified for student financial aid from a province/territory other than Ontario (confirmation required); OR are receiving Band funding from the Aboriginal Student Support Program (confirmation required)
AND, students must
- Be registered in at least 60% of a full course load for each semester during the academic year in which they wish to apply (40% for students with permanent disabilities)
Students who meet these criteria, and are offered a position, must complete a Declaration of Eligibility/Hiring form. The form is available online after September 1, 2011 or at these locations:
