Who this is for

Current students or recent graduates who would like a resume and cover letter review for applications to work, volunteer positions, awards, and graduate school. If you are a doctoral student applying for academic/research positions please attend a CV tutorial.

Same Day Résumé Appointment's

A limited number of one-on-one reviews are available by appointment daily with a peer advisor. Sign-up for these appointments online by selecting "What's On" beginning at 9 a.m. In preparation, you should know the type of position you are seeking (e.g research, administrative, analyst) and can list the basic qualifications for your advisor. If possible, bring a sample job posting.

How should I prepare?

Attend a Résumé and Cover Letter Basics Workshop or a Résumé Tutorial and begin the process of writing or revising your résumé. These are offered regularly (please see the What's On link for upcoming sessions).

What you will learn

After having your résumé critiqued, you will be able to:

  • Identify key qualifications of position for which you are applying
  • Articulate the skills and strengths relevant to the position for which you are applying
  • Link your strengths to the key qualifications on your résumé and/or cover letter
